Description

A good uphill climb from the Dewdrop Range to the escarpment rim of Red Plateau, along the Rim to a viewpoint, and back

  • this hike requires core fitness and can be a demanding route
  • some steep sections
  • good boots and hiking poles recommended
  • tick season (possibility of snakes too)
  • a scenic and interesting route
  • we will stay together for this hike on the way up
  • Participants must be well-prepared, as noted in KHC Guidelines and Expectations; leaders retain the right to refuse registration from anyone who is not in compliance with the listed expectations (please read)
  • to be honest, if you are not in good shape and strong, this is the wrong hike for you; this is a safety and liability issue so we will carefully look at who is registering
  • in preparation for this hike, you will need to do some long hill climbs prior to this event
