Description
Δ 2015 Peaks Series
• We will meet at the Aberdeen Mall meet up spot at 7:45/7:50 to arrange car pooling and be on the road by 8:00 AM, the drive is about 1 hour 40 minutes each way.
• Allow for $10 – $15 for carpooling (depending on numbers)
• This is a steep trail that leads to some climbing up the rocks with exposure.
• This will require good core fitness and the ability to handle exposed edges, must be comfortable with steep terrain.
• This hike is not for those who have a fear of heights and scrambling is involved.
• This is backcountry, the TEN Essentials are very important.
• Bring plenty of water, lunch, camera, incredible views at the top.
• A snack will be had at the last meadow before we begin the climb to the top, lunch at the summit.
• Poles are recommended as the trail up and down the mountain is very steep.
• The goal is for everyone to summit the needle.
• The leader reserves the right to review all participants’ abilities.
• This will be a Δ Peaks Series event.
• We can stop in Merritt for ice cream, coffee, etc. on the way home.
interested but a little intimidated
I would love to go John.
This looks awesome!
interested
Looking forward to this hike
John, I would be interested in this hike. I’ve been to the top a few times, but not for a few years. Count me in.
Very interested!
If there’s room….. Count me in.
Matt and I will be attending this hike.
I am letting my spot go, have 3 other things I am looking at that weekend and Yak was pretty hard in the heat but would like to do it in the future
Gerry Hoye will be co-leading/coordinating with this hike, thanks Gerry. John
Just checking out the webcams for the area. Smokey conditions are strongly evident. Is anyone else concerned, like myself, that the views of the surrounding mountain peaks will be disappointing?
Yes I’m wondering the same thing. Plus breathing in the smoke.
I really wanted to do this hike but i think i might cancel
Matt encouraged me that he heard the Fraser Valley is clearing out of smoke. And by the way the wind picked up tonight, we may be in luck to see the views and breath better air on the trail up there.
Give the weather a chance, it was clearer there on Wednesday than in Kamloops. When I looked at the Web cams, the conditions appeared good. Each person can make their own choice.
Cheers John
Ok I’ll be there but if it sucks I’m blaming Matt. Lol
