A moderate Snowshoe in and around Stake Lake generally on packed trails. We will probably snowshoe up to the Lookout and back but we’ll see what the conditions bring next week.

• dress for the conditions
• for snowshoeing events, members need appropriate boots, gaiters, reasonable snowshoes, and good gloves and headwear; poles are helpful
• bring a pad to sit on so that when we stop for lunch, you will stay dry
• bring a change of shoes and a bag for your snowy gear if you are carpooling
• we will stay together on the trails
• meet at Aberdeen Mall (click the link where it says location) at 10:00 to carpoool
• there is a fee at the gate ($5) and riders should expect to help pay for gas ($4)

I have been retired for several years now but hiking has been a favorite past time over the years. I used to backpack a lot… many years ago…..and undertake some really challenging hikes but now my preference is just for a good day out!
We’ve been in Kamloops for about 11 years (2nd time around) so hiking/snowshoeing is still relatively new for me here. I’ve hiked a lot in the Lower Mainland/Whistler area and now we enjoy the freedom of retirement to be able to walk/hike in the UK, Europe and elsewhere in the world.
I enjoy hiking on single or double track paths with small groups and generally keep up a moderate to steady pace.
