We will be backpacking into the Lower Stein Valley Heritage Park.  This area dries out quickly and makes a good early season backpacking trip.

This will be a slow, easy paced backpack, staying together as a group.  If you like to run ahead or go off on your own this is not the trip for you.  If you are new to backpacking this is a great opportunity to try out your gear.

Friday, May 31 – drive to the trail head outside of Lytton and backpack to the Devils Staircase Campsite.  This is approx 4 km from the trail head and has minimal elevation gain.  We will set up camp here for two nights before returning home.

Saturday, June 1 – day hike to the Suspension Bridge (approx 9 km (one way) from our campsite).

Sunday, June 2 – enjoy a leisurely morning coffee/breakfast.  Pack up, hike out and drive home

All participants MUST be fully prepare/equipped for backpacking.  Please contact me if you are interested in this trip.  I will only be accepting members who I have hiked with and I know are capable of a backpacking trip.  If you are a new member or new to backpacking I will need to do a couple hikes with you and/or a review of your gear.
