Description

Join Carole and John for another great day of snowshoeing!!

We will be Snowshoeing to “Cec’s Cabin” following the trail on “Coffey’s Climb”, this is described as (our most challenging snowshoe trail) it is an additional 3.2 km each way gaining 219 meters in elevation from the “South Hub” which is our normal lunch stop.  The trail to this cabin has been named in memory of a long time leader and man who contributed greatly to the development of many trails system in the area with the Shuswap trail Alliance. A perfect way to give Thanks for all his hard work in establishing so many trails for all of us to enjoy.

* This snowshoe adventure also promises to provide you with a winter wonderland scenery especially if fresh snow has fallen, the trees are usually covered in a thick blanket of snow which makes the scenery breathtaking as you walk through the forested area. As a bonus, there is a small pond “Bilbo’s Bog” that sparkles with green water and beautiful reflections.DSCN8792

* 2 hour drive from Kamloops to Larch Hills.

* Meet at Princess Auto at 8:20 am to arrange carpooling and leave  at 08:30 sharp.

* We expect to be off the trail by 4:00 PM and therefore back to Kamloops by 6:00 PM

Since this is an extended day of snowshoeing, it is expected that all participants will stay together for the entire trail, therefore, be prepared to do so. We may have to break trail  as we climb to Cec’s cabin depending if fresh snow has fallen- therefore, it is imperative that all participants stay together as a group and must be physically fit to complete the entire trail.
