A hike to the top of Baldy Mountain near Clearwater

• a range of dates is posted and we will pick the best weather date in the range about 6 days out
• the preferred date is July 25th, weather permitting
• drive to Little Fort to use the reaction ferry then drive to the north end of Dunn Lake
• a round trip of about 200 km with a good section on a high clearance road
• the dirt road up Baldy is high clearance so the group size will be limited by the vehicles we can provide
• the hike follows a double track to the summit where we will have lunch
• great views of the area
• the summit is at 2268 m (7440 ft.)
• a first-time hike for of this mountain for KHC
• we will be observing nature on the way up and down and will hike without bringing city noise to the backcountry
