Description

Come join us on June 11/17 for a 13 km hike from Balmoral trailhead to Blind Bay Bluffs. This hike has some steep sections along the way . We will hike through forested areas and along the bluffs to reach several spectacular viewpoints along the way including views over the entire South Shuswap. You must be physically fit for this hike as it is a demanding 13 to 15 km.

This hike should take about 5 hours to complete, allowing for time for lunch and rest periods along the way with plenty of opportunities for picture taking. This is considered an all day hike so be prepared to stay for the duration of the hike.

Bring a hearty lunch and snacks, plenty of water, mosquito repellant, your camera and of course, your smile!

Be prepared to stay with the group at all time as it is a wilderness trail so bears could be monitoring our footsteps. But no worries, with chatter and laughter, we will not encounter any bears.

Participants from Kamloops are to meet at Market  Fresh Food parking lot at 08:30 sharp-please be considerate of your fellow hikers and be ON TIME. Carpooling can be arranged at that time and the group will leave at 08:45 sharp.

Kamloops participants will then meet the Chase Group and leaders at the Chase Petro Canada at around 09:30 and caravan from there to the trailhead just located past Sorrento, turning left unto Balmoral road for about 1.5 km to the large parking lot on the right side of the road. The whole group shall arrive at the trailhead just before 10:00am. Upon arrival, we will arrange shuttle vehicles as this is a “through” hike.

If carpooling, remember to pay the driver as agreed upon prior to leaving Kamloops.

Remember your ten essentials and proper hiking boots or shoes. Poles are beneficial for this hike.

See you there for another great day of hiking!!
