Description
Your chance to hike on one of the nicest trails in the Shuswap. This really is a lovely flowing trail and although there has been logging along part of it recently its still a great hike
This trail is a moderate through – hike of about 4 hours. There are a few hills en route but nothing too strenuous . Basic fitness is required .We will stop about half way for lunch at a scenic lookout overlooking the Shuswap and Notch Hill area. Before we get to White Lake we will hike up a moderately inclined hill for 30 minutes to White Lake lookout.
We will meet at Valleyview Arena, carpool , then drive out to Balmoral where most of the hikers and some of our vehicles will be dropped. We then drive to White lake to drop some vehicles then return to Balmoral to begin our hike. $10 for the driver if you choose to carpool . There is about 3 hours travel time moving vehicles around including the return drive from Kamloops.
You are expected to remain for the duration of the event. If you have to be back in town earlier , this is not the event for you.
This is a wilderness area. Watch for bears and big cats.

We've been in Kamloops for about 11 years (2nd time around) so hiking/snowshoeing is still relatively new for me here. I've hiked a lot in the Lower Mainland/Whistler area and now we enjoy the freedom of retirement to be able to walk/hike in the UK, Europe and elsewhere in the world.
I enjoy hiking on single or double track paths with small groups and generally keep up a moderate to steady pace.
