Description

An off-trail hike to the top of the basalt bluffs, followed by some scrambling on slopes between the bluffs and back up again

  • meet at the Ord Road meet-up just before 10:00 (we will be gone by 10:01)
  • carpool to the trailhead
  • come prepared for snow, mud, ice, and loose footing conditions
  • traction devices may be a good idea
  • hike for 2 hours with a break for lunch at a viewpoint
  • a scenic route
  • good boots are required and hiking poles are recommended

  • this route has no trails and involves working our way over uneven surfaces with light scrambling
  • new members are welcome, but this is not a novices route
  • expect to be challenged at points along the route
