Description

A steep hike from Shuswap Road up past the silt bluffs to a ridge above the South Thompson River.   The hike is all on Crown Land.

Meet up at the Sun Rivers Petrocanada to carpool as there is limited space at the trailhead.    Cars can be left at gravel parking area the other side of the road into the PetroCanada gas station – not in the gas station parking area.  Carpool to trailhead 9.2 Km east of Hwy 5 as there is only space for one vehicle at trailhead ($3).
Hike the silt bluffs to a plateau – expect ticks and cactus.

Hike a steep grass slope to the ridge.   Hike along the ridge to a viewpoint.   All of the route is off trail and the climb is very steep.   Elevation 473 metres and most of the elevation is made on the steep grass slope.  Great views of the South Thompson and the silt cliffs below.   Views of the valley and Harper Mountain.   Views of Sheridam Lake in the valley.
