A scenic backroad loop on mostly gravel roads, some pavement, so ride is suitable for mountain bikes or hybrids – no skinny tire road bikes.   We will meet at Albert McGowan park in Sahali at 0900 and pedal up to Knutsford and out on the Long Lake road through to Jackson Road.   Then turn downhill on the 5A for a short distance to the Campbell Creek road.   This comes out at Barnhartvale so we will cycle back down from Barnhartvale and a 2 Km section on Hwy 1 back to Valleyview bike trails.   We will follow the trails back to the city then get a bus back up to the park (bring bus tickets or money).   Alternatively you can leave your car downtown close to the bike trails and begin by getting the no. 9 bus up to the park getting off at the junction of Summit and Robson Drive then you are finished at downtown.   Route is about 45 Km and is suitable for fit experienced riders.

Bring all essentials for changing flat tires, first aid, plenty of food and water as no supplies until Barnhartvale, and extra clothing.

I have been retired for several years now and enjoy many activities in the outdoors such as hiking, cycling, skiing, backpacking. I have lived in Canada for the last 35 years and spent a great deal of time exploring the Rockies, K-country, Kootenays and parts of BC.

I get out on a hike, ski or cycle ride several times a week either with the club or family and enjoy running multi day trips as well as day outings.I will lead fairly strenuous, moderate to steady paced outings as well as some starter outings.
