Description

This is a great chance for a close-to-home snowshoe (and to join Mark on his first posted event as a newly minted Leader).

After meeting up at the usual spot in the Aberdeen Mall parking lot we’ll consolidate into as few vehicles as necessary and carpool over to the trailhead (parking can be limited).  We’ll be starting just west of the TransMountain tank farm property on the Lac le Jeune road.

The Pineview trail system has been steadily expanding over the last few years, largely due to the efforts of local mountain bikers.  There’s plenty of snow and several route options. Depending on conditions on the day, we’ll string a route together that should put us back at the trailhead by around 1:30pm.

The weather forecast for Thursday is currently for temperature near 0 degrees, hopefully our current “Champagne Powder” conditions hang in there.

Dogs are welcome on this event, but keep in mind the snow is deep in spots and there are a lot of deer overwintering in this area.  If your dog is prone to chasing deer, please leave him/her at home.
