A hike to the base of the volcanic plug, then a steep scramble to the top for lunch
•article – Skoatl Point 2014
•meet at Paul Lake meet-up spot at 9:00
•drive to Skoatl trailhead (1.5 hrs)
•high-clearance vehicles needed for carpooling
•hike to the base of Skoatl, then scramble to the peak
•the final scramble is up vertical rock ledges; not for those with a fear of heights
•lunch on top, with a fine view of the Bonaparte Plateau and it’s many lakes
•return by the same route
•a moderate route, but the steep scramble is not for everyone

I have been hiking in the Kamloops area for a number of years enjoying the alpine in the summer months. Joined the KHC in 2011 and have been leading hikes and snowshoe events ranging from moderate to difficult for over two years. Look forward to sharing the trail with others in the club.
