Snowshoeing on Silver Star
Come and join KHC leaders Ed and Lois for what may be one of the last snowshoes of the season up at mile-high Sovereign Lake near Vernon and adjacent to Silver Star resort.
- This is a moderate to harder outing covering a distance of approximately 10-12 km. and may require us to break trail periodically depending on the route chosen and possible fresh snow.
- We will stop briefly along the trail for a snack and then continue onto the Black Prince Cabin where we will take a short half-hour break to enjoy our lunch.
- Trail fees are $10 for adults and $9 for seniors.
- Suggested rate for carpooling is $10.
- Dress for conditions (layers, poles, and gaiters are recommended) and please check this posting right up until the morning of the event in case any changes must be made as a result of inclement weather and/or road conditions.

My love of nature and the joy I experience in exploring the great outdoors began in early childhood and has continued throughout my life.
While I enjoy hikes of almost any nature,I am especially fond of the “high places” – the glorious peaks, ridges, and alpine meadows typical of mountainous terrain.
My wonderful partner and co-leader (Ed) and I share residency in the lovely hamlet of Lee Creek B.C., (Shuswap country) as well as that of beautiful Salt Spring Island.
It is a real pleasure to be a member of the KHC and an honor to be one of its Leaders.I look forward to sharing some memorable adventures with you on the trails.
