Description

This will be a new hike for myself, described as a strenous hike with scrambling and some exposure.
Carole and I will be staying in Clearwater the night prior to the hike.
Any participants from Kamloops will carpool from the Paul Lake Road meet up location, leaving by 7:30 am.
We will meet up at the Shell gas station parking lot across from the Wells Gray info centre where there are washrooms and coffee at 9:00 am.
We have decided to change the start time to 9:00 am, giving everyone an extra hour of sleep Monday morning. Originally planned as Trophy Mountains 1 and 2, a much longer hike than Raft. Tom Blackburn has decided to join our group and is willing to bring his truck. Apparently the road is quite rough and requires 4 wheel drive (I haven’t personally been on the road) Tom says the regular hike to Raft main summit is a 3 to 4 hour hike gaining 580 metres. Tom is planning to additionally hike the Raft Skyline which is a scramble with exposure – so not for everyone, this hike takes 6 to 7 hours. We will have to take this into consideration when arranging carpooling.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in the morning, weather conditions are supposed to be good, but remember we are hiking in the alpine.

Bring your hiking essentials, head lamp, camera, plenty of food and lots of water.
