Description

As Wells Gray park is closed due to the wildfires we will hike up to Zoa Peak, then into Falls lake.  This area has been smoke free during the fires but the hike will get cancelled if there is smoke or fires in the area.

Of the hikes in the high divide area of the Coquihalla Highway this is one of the most popular.  It has easy grades, light bush and grand views.  It is 6.8 Km to the end of the trail and climbs some 635 metres at an average grade of 11.5%.  Trees thin out as you ascend the trail and you travel in subalpine country to the first summit at just over 1850 m with good views to the south.   After a drop of 54m and regain, you will arrive at the second summit.

After our descent we will hike into Falls lake – just a couple of km from the parking lot.  A beautiful subalpine lake well worth the visit.
