Description

Wheeler Mountain is in the Lac de Bois area in Kamloops.

Wheeler Pond                                                                                Breaking Trail Near the Top

We will meet at the Batchelor Hills meet up spot at 10:00am and arrange carpooling to the trailhead.

The going will be pretty easy for the first half of the trip.   I would expect the meadows and double track to Wheeler Pond to be stomped in by previous hikers.  Once past the pond, we may have to break trail to the top.  We will take our time and have short breaks.

The trip is relatively scenic with a nice lookout over Kamloops at the end (weather permitting).

I am hoping the snow will still be good – if not be prepared to carry your snow shoes and maybe use traction devices.

I am assuming Lac de Bois Road will be plowed (the long term forecast seems ok).  If an unexpected storm comes in and we can’t get through we will head up to the Batchelor Heights Hills
