The background is the Valley of the Ten Peaks with Fay Glacier below Mount Fay. The 30″ x 60″ painting is currently on display in a gallery in Calgary.

Hike Leaders in Winter
Each of our volunteer Hike Leaders has a different pattern for leading events in the winter:
- Some of our Hike Leaders are seasonal hikers, taking the winter off.
- Some of our Hike Leaders only lead on weekends. They may only lead snowshoeing group events on established trails.
- Some look for off-trail routes on the snow, better suited to stronger snowshoers.
- Some of our Hike Leaders will carry on with hiking events at lower elevations for as long as is possible and will start as soon as possible at the end of winter.
- A couple are hardcore hikers/snowshoers that get out once or twice a week all winter, in all conditions.
- One of two lead summit attempts in late winter, conditions permitting.
- One of the strengths of our KHC team is having a diversity of Hike Leaders, each with different interests.
