A Big Thanks!

A big thanks goes out to Dianne Smith, Frith Powell and Anthony Stahn for keeping up with the ongoing process of new members that are signing up with our club.  Though winter is somewhat the slower time of the year for recruitment, the process of registration, organizing finances and activating web accounts are always ongoing.  So hats off to them for doing such a wonderful job for our club!

Potluck & AGM Registration Link

Our ‘quick link’ icon to register for the Potluck and AGM is now located on our homepage.  This event is always popular to meet and greet new members who have joined the club and socialize with our regular members in one place. Guests of members are welcome to attend as well, just need to fill out a guest form and bring along a dish. The guest fee has been waived for this social event. Hope to see all of you there!

The Real Camino de la Muerte

Adventure-seeking travelers from all over the globe descend on La Paz, Bolivia during high season to experience the aptly named ‘Camino de la Muerte’ or ‘Death Road’, a winding stretch of rocky terrain that begins at almost 4,900 metres above sea level. Cycling this stretch has become common practice for thrill-seeking tourists travelling through South America, with roughly 300 deaths per year not seeming to put a dent in visitation (making it even more enticing, perhaps?).  Read more of the story here; TERN Magazine article

If you have any news you would like to share with the club or have any suggestions of what you would like to get out of the news articles, please contact

Michelle Dressler

Raised in Saskatchewan, I came to Kamloops in 2006. I have been avidly involved with the KHC since 2011, serving in various board member positions and as a current hike Leader. During that time I have seen this club grow from 50 to 200 plus members, which has been astonishing!

Known as a ‘seasonal hiker’, I hibernate for the winter. So in Spring, I look forward to exploring many more trails and wish sharing it with others who are like minded in our club. See you on the trails!
