Welcome Two New Additions to our Club

If you haven’t noticed yet, the club website has some new additions. A new event category, Trail Running, (currently being lead by Paulette Gendron), has graced our already amazing selections of events offered by the club.  Meant for those who are not striving to do competitive racing, but rather getting fresh air, work up a good heart rate, and bringing a positive attitude out onto the trails.

Another great addition is the regularly scheduled hikes called Gerry’s Gyrations, lead by Gerry Hoye.  It is posted every Monday, Friday and the odd Saturday.  His hikes soulfully reflect on the event’s moto; Where am I goin’? I don’t know. Where am I headin’? I ain’t certain. All I know is I am HIKIN’ today. (On my way.)  The hike’s pace & distance are based on the groups’ decision prior to departing.  Slightly harder than a ‘Wanderweg’, but not as difficult as a ‘Tramps R’ US’  hike, this style of hike will certainly appeal to everyone.

If you have any questions whether these events are right for you, or just a general  inquiry, don’t hesitate to contact the leader of these events.

B.C. Campground Complaints Prompt Change for 2017

Beginning in 2017, the mid-March opening day for reservations will be scrapped and the three month rolling reservation window will be extended.

It now means reservations for the 2017 season can be made four months in advance of an individual campground’s first reservable date. To read the full article go to the following link:

Michelle Dressler

Raised in Saskatchewan, I came to Kamloops in 2006. I have been avidly involved with the KHC since 2011, serving in various board member positions and as a current hike Leader. During that time I have seen this club grow from 50 to 200 plus members, which has been astonishing!

Known as a ‘seasonal hiker’, I hibernate for the winter. So in Spring, I look forward to exploring many more trails and wish sharing it with others who are like minded in our club. See you on the trails!
