AGM Round Up

The AGM held this past weekend was another fantastic KHC social event.  With 55 members registered to attend the hall was buzzing.  The potluck had an excellent variety of dishes, some of which will be available in the upcoming KHC cookbook.  Sample t-shirts were on display and available to try on with members showing great interest.  We also had a large number of door prizes that were won including the special draw for the canvas provided by Ed Hennan.  There was also some gear available from members for sale or swap.

Last Call For Some Trails

Many of the trails in the Balmoral/Blind Bay/White Lake area are soon to be destroyed by logging. Some leaders may wish to post hikes in that area in the near future, before they are gone. As soon as the area dries out, the road building will begin.

Anthony Stahn*

As a flatlander from Manitoba I have always been captivated by the mountains of the west. Moving to Kamloops has provided me with the perfect base camp to explore those very peaks that pulled our family west. My typical hiking style can be summed up with "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". Bushwhacking has become an acceptable form of travel for me as it seems that a lot of the great spots are off trail. Hikes done by myself and Marty tend to fall into this category so don't be surprised if this happens on a Marant hike. You can find more information at http://marantrambles.ca. Happy Hiking!
