2018 Board of Directors Elections

With the Annual General Meeting 6 weeks away, it is time to start thinking about elections for the Board of Directors.  All positions are open for nomination.   Some of the current Directors may stand for re-election, but there will also be positions with no one nominated as yet.

As per the Society Act, 4 positions are defined with short job descriptions:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

These positions may be combined  if necessary.

Under KHC’s Standard Operating Procedures, we also have the position of Past President, also requiring a nomination (we have had 4 Presidents and only those 4 qualify).

The other positions are Directors (at large) and the Board as a whole determines their responsibilities (including more than one role).   They include:

  • Webmaster
  • Hike Leaders Committee (usually Directors who are also Hike Leaders)
  • New Members Committee (new)
  • Special Events Committee
  • Equipment
  • Liaison Roles – Sponsors and Supporters, FMCBC, Sports Council, Kamloops Thompson Trails Alliance
  • Other  positions,  as determined by the Board of Directors
